The Iran Bombing Is Wrong. It Needs to Stop.

Americans are waking up to the deeply unsettling news that President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu chose to start a war with Iran.

This is wrong. It needs to stop.

The people of Iran do not deserve what is happening to them now. Innocent civilians are being killed. Israelis, Palestinians, and Americans stationed across the Middle East are now also in danger from retaliation and further escalation.

Military strikes of this sort can – at best – produce short-term, tactical gains. They cannot dismantle Iran’s nuclear knowledge, eliminate the threat posed by its ballistic missile capabilities, or stop Iranian-sponsored terrorism. Just 8 months ago President Trump declared that the Iranian nuclear program had been “obliterated”. And yet here we are again.

We need a comprehensive strategy grounded in diplomacy, not in impulsive military escalation.
