Our Work

New Jewish Narrative is a national organization rooted in more than a century of American Jewish activism. We believe that peace and justice are the birthright of Israelis, Palestinians, and all people. That is why we reject the old narratives that try to place a wedge between the Jewish community and the broader American left or that try to divide us between those who care about Israelis and those who care about Palestinians. Instead, we will always be a principled Jewish champion for our values.

Much of NJN’s work revolves around Israel and Palestine. At the same time, NJN is not a single-issue organization. We speak out – often in coalitions – to uphold justice, human dignity, and civil rights in the United States. When antisemitism rears its ugly head (or is weaponized to stifle dissent), when the government deploys ICE to terrorize communities, when democratic norms are trampled – NJN acts.

Government Relations: A force in Washington, DC and in statehouses around the nation advocating for peace, democracy, and justice. NJN is known for providing reliable information, analysis, and judgment to decision makers.

Jewish Community Engagement: Organizing events, rallies, and protests with national and local organizations and activists to push for principled action on Israel, Palestine, and domestic justice. NJN raises our principled voice within major Jewish umbrella bodies including the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, the American Zionist Movement, and the Progressive Israel Network.

Narrative Change & Media: Op-eds, webinars, video, and social media campaigns that shape the perspectives of policymakers, reporters, and the public – advancing peace and human dignity at home and abroad.

Leadership Development: Training and network weaving for Jewish and non-Jewish leaders, youth activists, and partners across the public sector.

Alliance with Habonim Dror: Partnering with the premier progressive Jewish youth movement in communities nationwide to build the next generation of changemakers.

Partnership with Peace Now: NJN is a major funder and strategic partner to Peace Now, Israel's leading peace movement. Its Settlement Watch program exposes the ongoing expansion of settlements and annexation in the West Bank.

Coalition Building: Bridging Jewish, Palestinian, interfaith, and justice-oriented communities to work toward a shared vision of dignity and peace for all.
